We Filled A Studio With Cats And Invited Hundreds Of People To Come Play
The event was a pop-up cat cafe, a sneak peak of the permanent Seattle Meowtropolitan Cat Cafe set to open this summer. Reservations for the experience sold out within a week. Feline lovers of Seattle showed that they loved the idea and wanted it immediately.
People entered the studio and could hardly wait to be immersed in the cat wonderland. The adoptable cats got the opportunity to socialize with humans of all ages, spreading their love with their purrs and cuddles.
About 30 people were let in for half-hour time frames throughout the weekend to get their coffee and cat fixes.
Patrons were served freshly-brewed locally-roasted Herkimer Coffee and Choice Organic Teas, along with cat-shaped cookies. The permanent cat cafe will also feature Herkimer Coffee and cat-themed snacks. In compliance with health codes, the section with coffee and snacks will be separated by a wall and doors from the cat lounge where the cats will live and roam.
Local organizations and media flocked to the pop-up to get a taste of the popularity of cats and coffee in one place.
The event perfectly highlighted why the cat cafe trend is popping up all over North America. Cats are not just taking over the internet, but also everyday life. Pretty soon, Seattleites will stop in to play with cats when they get their daily cup of coffee. Seattle Meowtropolitan is will open its permanent location this summer.
